What is paracord, and how strong is it?
Our leashes and collars are sewn from Paramax cord, a paracord-style rope rated to 1,200 lbs of tensile strength. It's also mildew and rot resistant, so it holds up to regular outdoor use.
How long does it take to get my order?
Every item is handmade. Please allow 5-10 business days for your item to be crafted before it ships. During busy seasons this window may run a little longer. Orders ship within the U.S. via USPS/UPS with tracking, and you'll get a tracking number by email as soon as your label is created.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Yes, any time before we start making it, for a full refund. Contact us as soon as you can with your order number. Once we've started on your item it's been cut and sewn to your choices, so the order can't be changed or cancelled. We often start within a day or two.
What payment methods do you accept?
Credit and debit cards, plus wallets like Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link when your device and browser support them. Payment is processed by Stripe, and we never see or store your full card number.
Is a slip leash safe for my dog?
Slip styles tighten to fit and don't release like a clip does. Never leave your dog unattended while wearing one.
Do you offer bulk or wholesale pricing?
Yes. Order 10-29 items and every item in the order is $1.00 off; order 30 or more and it's $2.00 off each. Leashes, collars, and accessories all count, in any mix of styles, lengths, and colors. The discount is based on your total item count and applies automatically at checkout, no code needed.
Do you have a rewards program?
Yes. Every order placed on this website earns 1 point per $1 of gear, before tax and shipping, with nothing to sign up for. 100 points gets you $10 off an order of $20 or more. Sign in to your account with the email you ordered with to see your points. Etsy orders don't earn points.
Can I return or exchange my leash?
Because every item is custom-made for you, we're not able to accept returns for buyer's remorse on custom colors, lengths, or other customizations. If your item arrives damaged, has a defect in how it was made, or isn't what you ordered, contact us within 14 days of delivery and we'll make it right with a repair, a replacement, or a refund. You won't pay to send anything back.
How do I clean paracord gear?
Hose off dirt with cool water after muddy walks. For stubborn grime, hand wash with mild soap (dish soap works) and a soft brush, or let it soak. Rinse clean and air dry out of direct sun.
What's the difference between ordering here and on Etsy?
It's the same gear, made by the same two people. Orders on this website earn reward points, show up in your account here, and are covered by this site's policies. Orders on Etsy are handled through Etsy, under Etsy's policies, and don't appear in your account or earn points here.
What if my package is lost or arrives damaged?
We keep tracking and delivery confirmation on file for every order. If your package is lost or arrives damaged in transit, let us know as soon as possible so we can help file a claim with the carrier.
Do you ship to Canada or internationally?
This website ships within the U.S. only. If you're in Canada or elsewhere outside the U.S., you can find Chaotic K9 Creations on Etsy instead.
How to Measure Your Dog for a Leash or Collar

Measure your dog's neck for a collar
Wrap a soft measuring tape around the base of your dog's neck, where a collar normally sits, and leave room for two fingers to fit comfortably underneath. Compare that measurement to our Slip Collar sizes: Small (11-14 in), Medium (14-17 in), Large (17-20 in), or X-Large (20-23 in).

Pick a leash length for how you'll use it
Shorter leashes (4-6 ft) give you more control on walks or in tight, crowded spaces. A 6 ft length is the most common all-purpose choice. Long lines (15-95 ft) are built for recall training, tracking work, or letting your dog range further while still attached.

When in doubt, size up slightly
A slip-style leash or collar tightens to fit, so it doesn't need to be exact, but a length that's too short limits your dog's movement and one that's too long is harder to manage. If you're between two sizes, the larger option is usually the safer pick.
