Information You Provide

Placing an order. Checkout is handled entirely by Stripe on Stripe's own secure payment page. When you check out, Stripe collects your name, email address, shipping address, and payment details on our behalf. We never see or store your full card number, it's entered directly into Stripe, not into any form on this site.

Calculating shipping before checkout. Before you reach Stripe, this site asks for your shipping address to show you real carrier rates. That address is sent to our shipping provider, Shippo, to fetch live rate quotes, and is sent again, server-side, right before your order is created to confirm the exact rate charged. It is not stored in a database of ours, it exists only for the length of that request.

Contacting us. The contact form on our Contact page works differently than most: it never sends your message to our server at all. Submitting it opens your own email app with the message pre-filled, and you send it from there, the same as if you'd written us an email directly. If your device isn't set up to open an email app, nothing is transmitted.

Information Collected Automatically

Your cart. While you're shopping, your cart (the styles, colors, lengths, and quantities you've picked) is saved in your browser's local storage, on your device only. We don't receive or see it until you actually check out. Clearing your browser data or using a different device or browser will clear it.

Server logs. Like almost every website, ours runs on hosting infrastructure (Vercel) that automatically logs standard request data, IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps, for security and reliability. We also log a short record of each completed order (email, amount, and the item spec) to this same logging system as an internal backup alongside the Stripe Dashboard.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand overall site traffic, such as which pages get visited and roughly how many people shop here, so we know what's working. It only runs if you click “Accept” on the cookie banner shown on your first visit, nothing loads before that, and you can decline it entirely. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information like your approximate location, device/browser type, and the pages you view. It does not receive your name, address, or payment details, those only ever go to Stripe. We don't run any advertising or ad-retargeting scripts on this site.

Who We Share It With

We work with a small number of service providers to run this store, and share only what each one needs to do its job:

• Stripe — payment processing, checkout, and Virginia sales tax calculation. Stripe holds your order and payment records under its own privacy policy and retention rules.
• Shippo — live shipping rate quotes and, after purchase, generating the actual shipping label from your order's address.
• Vercel — website hosting and server logs, as described above.
• Google Analytics — aggregate site traffic and usage statistics, as described above.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone for advertising or marketing purposes, and we don't share it with any party beyond what's listed here.

Cookies

This site uses Google Analytics cookies to measure traffic, see Analytics above. We don't set any advertising or ad-retargeting cookies of our own. Once you're redirected to Stripe to pay, you're on Stripe's own domain (checkout.stripe.com), and Stripe's cookies and privacy practices apply from that point, see Stripe's Privacy Policy.

How Long We Keep Information

We don't operate customer accounts or a customer database. Order and payment records live in Stripe, and shipping records live in Shippo, retained under each provider's own policies and as required by law (for example, tax and accounting record-keeping). The internal order log described above is kept in our hosting provider's standard log retention window.

Your Choices

Because your order data primarily lives with Stripe and Shippo rather than in a database we control, the most direct way to ask about, correct, or request deletion of information tied to an order is to email us at shop@chaotick9creations.com. We'll act on what we control directly and pass along requests to Stripe or Shippo where the data lives with them instead.

Where We Ship, and Where Your Data Goes

We currently ship within the United States only. If you're browsing from outside the US, your information is still processed and stored on servers located in the United States.

Children's Privacy

This site is intended for adults purchasing pet gear and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Security

Payment information is handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor, it never passes through our own servers. No method of transmission or storage online is 100% secure, but we rely on established, reputable providers (Stripe, Shippo, Vercel) for everything involving your personal information.

Changes to This Policy

If how we handle information changes, we'll update this page and revise the date at the top.
